  • I would recommend this business

I haven't had the fortune to be a client myself, but I've seen examples of Sara and teams work around the Tri-Cities. They have a staff of excellent designers, and they do some pretty amazing work!

From Our Website

We designed a five-tier product packaging suite for Basel Cellars. Their house wine, 2901 features a lock and key, and motifs found on the entry gate of the estate. The Reserve features a screen-printed bottle embellished with a hand-dyed metal label, complemented with a hand-dipped wax seal. The estate series is printed on a metallic paper. Marla Newhouse honored her parents, Alfred and Pauline Newhouse, in the creation of Vestige and Cottontop Wines, respectively. In keeping with that theme, we designed a logo and wine label inspired by the Native American symbol for "sun, water, wind"-elements that make the Red Mountain terrior so special.

Sageland center is a high-end, state-of-the-art meeting facility designed for small educational seminars, business meetings and workshops. Their website was therefore designed with the idea of "elegant simplicity" as a guiding principle. We accomplish both with beautiful photography, a consistent narrative and seamless interface to OrderPort's winery-specific point-of-sale system. For a small business not quite ready for a full web presence but still wanting to be found online, a landing page is a good solution.

Inland Desert Nursery's annual calendars are designed to both show off their vine stock and acknowledge those who invest in certified clean and disease-free vines. Beautiful custom photography featuring client vineyards and their owners or managers achieves both, creating a calendar that often stays in sight much longer than 365 days. Sara Nelson Design created this campaign for Kadlec, with warm colors and beautiful photography revealing the reality of eastern Washington: 300+ days of sunshine and an amazing variety of outdoor recreation.

This suite of labels was designed for a line of rubs and seasonings that help weekend grillers achieve professional results. The imagery was developed to call to mind the Old West: cowboys, cattle, ranches and meat cooked outdoors over an open flame. Between Las Vegas and Death Valley there's a valley full of surprises.one of them being a very small producer of high-quality, estate-grown, premium olive oil. This is the label we designed for School Lane Orchard and Vineyard's Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Bob Rhodes Heating and Air wanted a refreshed identity-one that communicates trust, competence and warmth. We designed two versions of their logo-one horizontal and one stacked. These new elements were incorporated into their fleet, uniforms, signage, stationery and website. This client is converting the family's farm into a vineyard and winery. An interesting side note to that story is that they are also developing a pheasant conservancy. We created a stylized pheasant illustration, typically executed with copper foil and a tiny pop of bright green to accentuate the neck feathers.

Sara's gift is an ability to understand and clarify a client's needs and goals. With that, she works closely with the rest of the team to identify the best ways to communicate the right message to the right audience. One particular passion that carries into her professional life is the study of color psychology. That led her to become involved in the Color Marketing Group's ChromaZone Forecasting Process and the study of color theory with Pantone's Color Futurist Leatrice Eiseman. Herb has been with Sara Nelson Design longer than anyone except Sara!
