* Possess extraordinary interpersonal skills, leadership qualities, a passion for teaching, and the ability to effectively communicate technical expertise to students to help them achieve their educational goals.
* Have great organizational and interpersonal skills and a willingness to support all students on the path to their success.
* Meet rigorous credentialing requirements; these vary by program (see below) but in most cases, we are looking for faculty who hold master’s degrees and have significant work experience in their fields.

* A prepared 3- to 4-minute engaging, interactive demonstration lesson on a topic from your subject area

Please plan to arrive no later than 9:00 a.m. Morning schedule will be as follows:

* 8:30 am – 9:15 am Check-in
* 9:15 am – 9:30 am General welcome; “Teaching at Westwood” by Academic Dean
* 9:30 am – 10:30 am Individual interviews with Program Chairs
* 10:30 am – noon Demonstration lessons

Westwood is recruiting in these areas:

* Automotive Technology – We are seeking candidates with associate’s degrees and current ASE certification to teach courses in automotive electricity, electronics, engine performance, engine rebuilding, transmissions, and brakes. A minimum of four years’ industry experience is also required.
* Criminal Justice – We are seeking candidates with master’s or JD degrees and experience in law enforcement, criminal law, juvenile justice, criminal investigation, criminal procedures, diversity issues, crisis intervention, probation and parole, victimology, and/or public policy.
* Game Art and Game Software – We are seeking candidates with education and experience in the video game industry, including 2D artistry, 3D modeling, animation, game concepts, and programming. A bachelor’s degree in a related field of study and at least four years of related work experience are required; a master’s degree is preferred.
* General Education – We are seeking a variety of candidates who can teach any of the following subjects at the post-secondary level: English, mathematics, science, government, speech, psychology, and humanities. A master’s degree or higher in the relevant field is required.
* Information Technology – We are seeking candidates to teach courses in Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, Linux, and Networking (both general and Cisco-specific). A bachelor’s degree in a related field of study and at least four years of related work experience are required; a master’s degree is preferred.
* Westwood College is a member of the Cisco Networking Academy program. In order to teach Cisco courses, a current CCNA certification is required; a CCAI certification is strongly preferred.
* Surveying – We are seeking candidates with bachelor’s degrees and/or surveyor licenses to teach associate’s level courses in CAD basics, field surveying, boundary law, public lands, and construction surveying. A minimum of four years’ field experience is also required.
